The construction of a foundation on a slope places special demands on the calculation of slope stability. Huge volumes of concrete can cause soil layers to slide off the slope. As for the economic side of the issue, hilly terrain requires significantly higher costs for excavation and concrete work, including spare volumes of concrete to compensate for uneven terrain.
